STEM Gulf Coast to Host STEM Fest in Gulfport on August 22, 2026 Offering Hands-On STEM Experiences
Hands-On STEM Experiences for K–12 Students to Explore, Build, Create, and Discover the Exciting World of STEM
Gulfport, MS — STEM Gulf Coast, is excited to present STEM Fest on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Herbert Wilson Community Center. This free, hands-on STEM experience will give K–12 students an opportunity to build, experiment, create, and explore through an engaging array of interactive STEM activities.
STEM Fest brings together hands-on stations inspired by STEM Saturday experiences throughout the year, giving students the opportunity to explore a variety of STEM concepts and activities in one exciting event. From engineering and physics to technology and problem-solving, students can move from station to station, putting their creativity and critical-thinking skills to work while discovering how STEM connects to the world around them.
“STEM Fest is designed to give young people the freedom to explore, experiment, and find the STEM concepts that capture their imagination,” said Dr. Calvin Mackie, founder and CEO of STEM NOLA. “When students have the opportunity to move through different activities and engage with a range of STEM challenges, they begin to understand that there is no single way to be a scientist, engineer, or innovator. Our goal is to create an environment where curiosity leads the way and every student can find something that inspires them.”
Event Highlights:
- Hands-On STEM Learning: Students will dive into essential STEM concepts through the principles of friction.
- Free and Open to All K-12 Students: This event is designed for students of all experience levels and is open to the community.
