STEM NOLA Summer Camps 2024
Are you looking for a summer camp for your child(ren)? STEM NOLA offers hands-on, engaging camps for kids in grades K-8th.
We offer multiple camp opportunities that range in subject areas such as coding, artificial intelligence, robotics, chemistry, environmental science, and more.
The camps are offered in many locations across the greater New Orleans area through the months of June and/or July. Please take a moment to review the different offerings of camps to see what best suits you and your families needs.

STEM NOLA Technology Camp Fueled by Chevron
Note: Registration Fee is refundable ONLY for students on scholarship and is solely only upon your Child’s PERFECT attendance.
Session 1: 3-D Printing
- Ages: 3rd – 8th Grade
- Dates: June 10 – June 14 | Mon-Fri 9am-3pm
- Registration: $50 per session | Camp Fee $200 *Scholarships Available*
- Location: Xavier University of Louisiana
- Description: Design and model your very own 3D printed object. Students will be taken through the design process of modeling using Tinkercad to create an object that will be 3D printed.
Session 2: Raspberry Pi
- Ages: 3rd – 8th Grade
- Dates: June 17 – June 18 & June 20 – June 21 | Mon-Fri 9am-3pm
- Registration: $50 per session | Camp Fee $200 *Scholarships Available*
- Location: Xavier University of Louisiana
- Description: Students will explore coding and programming with Python to program a Raspberry Pi for multiple real-world robotics projects including drum sets, cars, and digital games!
Session 3: Robotics
- Ages: 3rd – 8th Grade
- Dates: June 24 – June 28 | Mon-Fri 9am-3pm

- Description: Students will be introduced to the world of Robotics using a robotics kit. They will then experience the joys of programming using block-based coding.
Session 4: Artificial Intelligence
- Ages: 3rd – 8th Grade
- Dates: July 8 – July 12 | Mon-Fri 9am-3pm

- Ages: 3rd – 8th Grade

- Description: Sign up for a full week of video gaming! Participating students will be introduced to the world of video gaming to create, model and design their very own video game!

- Description: During this session, kids will learn more about how electricity flows and connect how circuits are used in everyday life through robotics and technology. They will go through hands-on activities that will apply what they learn to compete in a STEM- Olympics.

Kids will also get hands on with reactions by creating chemical reactions and learning the difference between endothermic and exothermic reactions. Summer Camps FAQ
When is camp?
STEM NOLA hosts camps throughout the summer months (June and July) for kids in Orleans Parish and the 5 surrounding Parishes.
What type of camps do you offer?
STEM NOLA offers a variety of camps to engage kids in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM).
What grades can attend camps?
STEM NOLA offers different camps that cater to different grade levels.
Most of our camps are for K-8th grade students. Kids entering Kindergarten the upcoming fall to students that left 8th grade the previous Spring.
Are there scholarships available for camp?
Currently the only camp that requires a Camp fee is Technology Camp.
We have scholarships available on a first come first serve basis.
To apply for a need-based scholarship please read the information below:
Need-Based Scholarships – Partial and full scholarships are available for Louisiana students only. If you believe that your child can qualify for a
need-based scholarship you must provide documentation to verify need.
- Partial Scholarship – 1 form of documentation = $50 registration + $100 summer camp fee
- Full Scholarship – 2 forms of documentation = $50 registration ONLY
- Documents include:
– certification of free/reduced lunch – (i.e. a letter from the school)
– documentation of social security disability
– tax or payroll information
– documentation of governmental support – (i.e. – medicaid, snap, etc) - To apply for a need based scholarship:

Will my camp fee be refunded?
- ONLY Registration Fees will be refunded for Hands- On Camp THAT ATTEND the entire weekend
- ONLY to students in Technology camp that are on scholarships AND ATTEND the entire week. Refunds will not be processed until 30 days after the end of the camp AND will
- ONLY be sent to the card number on file for the payment. No refunds or credits will be given to any cancellations within two weeks of the camp date.
- CAMP FEES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED!
- NO FEES WILL be refunded if you cancel registration within two (2) week of the camp start date.
- ALL REFUNDS will be processed 30 days after the last day of that camp!
Is breakfast and lunch provided?
- Technology Camp will have a breakfast snack and hot lunch provided by STEM NOLA. A Lunch schedule will be given at parent orientation
- Hands-On Camp will have a breakfast snack and hot lunch provided by the school for kids at camp.
- We encourage your child bringing their lunch if they have dietary restrictions or/are picky eaters.
Will snacks be provided?
- STEM NOLA will provide a snack in the afternoons for campers. Your child is encouraged to bring their own snack, however, in the case that they do not have one, a snack will be provided daily.
Is there before and after care?
STEM NOLA does not provide before or after care for students.
Each camp has a 30 minute window before camp and after camp for drop-off and pick-up. If you drop off before the window, your child will not be supervised by an adult NOR will STEM NOLA be held liable. If you are late picking up your child, there will be a charge.
What is the penalty for late pick-ups?
STEM NOLA will charge for late pick-ups. STEM NOLA will charge $1 per minute per child for every minute late after the 30 minute dismissal period.
Will there be a parent orientation?
Yes, STEM NOLA will host a parent orientation on Sunday, June 2nd at 2pm.
What is camp attire?
Shirt
- Accepted: Camp t-shirt, school t-shirt, or plain colored t-shirt
- Unaccepted: No shirts with, holes, obscene and/or offensive language or graphics will be allowed)
Pants
- Accepted: jean shorts, gym shorts, jeans, joggers
- Unaccepted: No shorts above mid-thigh, no tight clothing
Shoes
- Accepted: Closed toe shoes (tennis shoes)
- Unaccepted: No sandals, flip flops, backless shoes
Will my child receive a camp t-shirt?
Every child will receive one (1) camp t-shirt for free at parent orientation. If you wish to purchase another you may do so while supplies last.
How do I pay for camp?
Technology camp payments can be made through the paypal link in the confirmation email you received.
Hands-On Camp payments can be made on the camp’s website. Please be sure you enter the child’s name before pressing submit payment.
