STEM Gulfcoast Summer Camp Sessions

Week 1

Environmental Engineering / Buoyancy & Density

June 8-June 11

  • Ages: Kdg – 8th Grade
  • Dates:  June 8- June 11  | Mon-Thurs 9am-3pm
  • Registration: FREE
  • Location:  The Family Enrichment Center
    5001 Old Pass Rd, Gulfport, MS
  • Description:   During this session, kids will learn what Archimedes’ Principle is and why things float. Kids will also get hands-on with the environment and how to make things grow and keep the earth green. They will go through multiple hands-on activities that will apply to the week’s topic and use what they learn to make real-life applications.

Week 2

Physics of Chemistry, Rockets & Sound

June 15- June 18

  • Ages: Kdg – 8th Grade
  • Dates:    June 15- June 18 | Mon-Thurs 9am-3pm
  • Registration:  FREE
  • Location: The Family Enrichment Center
  • 5001 Old Pass Rd, Gulfport, MS
  • Description:  During this session, Kids will get hands-on with reactions by creating chemical reactions and learning the difference between endothermic and exothermic reactions. Kids will dive into learning about sound, how sound travels, what frequency and pitch mean and how it affects sound.  They will go through multiple hands-on activities that will apply to the week’s topic and use what they learn to make real-life applications.

Week 3

Biology & Technology

June 22 – June 25

  • Ages: Kdg – 8th Grade
  • Dates:     June 22 – June 25  | Mon-Thurs 9am-3pm
  • Registration:  FREE
  • Location:  The Family Enrichment Center
    5001 Old Pass Rd, Gulfport, MS
  • Description:   During this session, kids will explore properties of the human anatomy like the heart, lungs, and circulatory system. They will also be able to connect how human anatomy compares to present-day technology. Kids will learn more about how electricity flows and connect how circuits are used in everyday life through robotics and technology. They will go through multiple hands-on activities that will apply to the week’s topic and use what they learn to make real-life applications.
